Is there a more lovely word in the English language?
Of course, vacation conjurs up images of palm trees, fruity drinks with those fun umbrella’s, clear blue waters and a big beach towel for sprawling and getting your tan on.
Until you have kids. Then vacation means getting up early, making sure every inch of skin is covered in SPF 5000 and fruity drinks in pouches with straws that are impossible to poke through without spraying juice all over the front of you.
But honestly, I have nothing bad to say about family vacation because I. Love. It.
You know what makes me Happy? You know what I LOVED about our vacation?
Watching cousins reconnect and snuggle up on the couch with a good book.
Watching my Sweets copy her older cousins in typical cousin adoration.
Seeing Noggin’s older cousins shower her with love and affection.
Watching the eldest cousin in turns terrorize and fill Sweets with joy chasing her as the “cousin monster”. She is clearly cousin smitten.
Watching Sweets and her day younger BFF cousin walk down the beach, side by side, collecting jelly fish (yeah, don’t ask, it was kind of gross, but hey- they were occupied!).
Seeing Sweets play in the waves.
Watching Noggin kick her little legs and splash about in the pool.
Hearing giggles and laughs and the screams of kids having fun.
Watching my family, the family that I love so much, smiling and loving being together.
It doesn’t get much better than that.
Have a great crazy day!
